Alex Stellema has over 10 years of experience in the retirement plan services industry – having served in both a recordkeeping capacity for 401(k)s and as a 401(k) advisor to individuals. In his role with 1834, Alex will put his wide range of expertise to use assisting in the administration of retirement plans for companies across the 1834 footprint, as well as continuing to help build out and deliver 1834’s education offering for employees of those companies.

Alex is known for his:

  • Participant-first approach – He prioritizes the needs of employees, helping to provide the education, tools and support they need to work toward their retirement savings goals.
  • Deep product knowledge and strategic guidance – Leveraging his extensive knowledge of retirement plan products and providers, Alex helps his clients structure their plans in a way that is compliant and in the best interest of both employers and employees.
  • Dedication to long-term client success – He prides himself on building lasting relationships by proactively managing plans and refining plan designs to meet his clients’ evolving needs.

Alex graduated from Ball State University with degrees in accounting and finance. He also has his Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) and Fellow, Secure Retirement Institute (FSRI) designations.

He is currently a board member of LifeSmart Youth. Outside of work, Alex is an avid traveler. When he’s not traveling the globe, you can find him outside playing soccer, disc golf or enjoying the local trails in Indiana.
